What is Suzastor tab. 20 mg x 30 and what is it used for:

• You have high cholesterol. This means that you are at risk of a heart attack or stroke. Suzastor is used in adults, adolescents and children over 6 years of age to treat high cholesterol.

It is recommended that you take a statin, as changes to your diet and doing more physical activity have not been enough to correct your cholesterol levels. You should continue the diet and physical activity to lower your cholesterol while taking Suzastor.

• There are other factors that increase the risk of a heart attack, stroke, or other similar health problems.

Heart attack, stroke, and other problems can be caused by a condition called atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis is due to the accumulation of fatty deposits in the arteries.

Why is it important to continue taking Suzastor?

Suzastor is used to correct the levels of fatty substances in the blood, called lipids, the most commonly encountered of which is cholesterol.

There are different types of cholesterol in the blood – “bad” cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein cholesterol or LDL-C cholesterol) and “good” cholesterol (high-density lipoprotein cholesterol or HDL-C cholesterol).

• Suzastor can reduce levels of “bad” cholesterol and increase levels of “good” cholesterol.
• Its action is to help block the formation of “bad” cholesterol in your body and improve your body’s ability to remove it from your blood.

In most people, high cholesterol does not affect how they feel, as it does not cause any symptoms. However, if cholesterol is not treated, fatty deposits can form on the walls of your blood vessels and narrow them. Sometimes, narrowed blood vessels can become blocked and this can stop the flow of blood to the heart or brain, which will lead to a heart attack or stroke. By lowering cholesterol levels, you can reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, or other similar health problems. It is necessary to continue taking Suzastor even if your cholesterol has reached normal levels, as this medication protects against new increases in your cholesterol and the appearance of fatty deposits. However, you should stop taking it if your doctor tells you to or if you become pregnant.

 

Suzastor 20mg film-coated tablets are brown, round film-coated tablets with an embossed marking “RSV 20” on one side. Suzastor is available in:
